About Us

Welcome! We are Jen and Karlee, the Friendly Moms.

Welcome to our little corner of the internet – your safe and inclusive space for all things pregnancy, postpartum and parenting. Our goal is to help people build a community (both in person and virtual) to help deal with the everyday stressors of being a parent. Follow along for information on our favorite baby/child products, recipes our kids actually ate, how we survived different aspects of the journey, self care as a mom, identity loss in motherhood, and an endless list of other topics. This information will be shared on our blog posts, social media and on our podcast (yay)!

We started our podcast, The Friendly Moms Club, while we were in the midst of postpartum as we noticed a lack of support and resources for parents. We bonded over our own mental health struggles and felt a strong calling to share our experiences as a way to help others. Along the way we learned the true impact of finding other mom friends and how positively it can shape your postpartum experience. Be warned – we are oversharers but only in the best way. We had to learn some things the hard way and will always be honest about how things were.

Our podcast also will feature several amazing guests to speak on specialized topics such as IVF, nutrition, life coaching, gentle parenting, chiropractic care for infants/children, pelvic floor health and so much more.

Meet the Friendly Moms!

Hi! I’m Jen, momma to a little girl, Jordan, and another little one on the way!

My family also includes my husband, Nenad, and fur child, Mojo (an Australian Shepherd). I grew up in and currently reside in the Lower Mainland, BC. I have always been super outgoing, enjoy exploring the outdoors, trying new things, and meeting new people. I’m also a foodie, specifically if it includes potatoes. After being diagnosed with PTSD, before having kids, I found a new calling to always check in on others, share my story and vowed to help others as much as I could. This calling only got stronger after having my first child, Jordan, and learning how scarce the resources out there for postpartum moms were! I can’t wait for you to join Karlee and I on our unfiltered journey of motherhood and sincerely hope that it can help you along the way.

Hi! I am Karlee – the other half of The Friendly Moms Club.

I am a mama to a 1 year old boy named Henry, as well as a fur mama to two cats, Phoebe and Toby. I currently live in the Lower Mainland, BC with my hubby. I work as a labor and delivery nurse by day and am a self-proclaimed foodie, plant hoarder and avid Bravo tv fangirl by night.

I have struggled with my mental health (and the associated guilt and shame) for as long as I can remember. I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD, which has completely transformed the way I view and navigate my day-to-day life. I am a recovering perfectionist and people pleaser and am working everyday towards becoming my most authentic self. Becoming a mother has challenged me in ways I never imagined and has acted as a catalyst for remarkable personal growth. It has encouraged me to finally process repressed grief, challenged my view on diet culture, and re-evaluate my purpose and meaning in life. My goal with sharing my journey is to help normalize discussions around mental health, encourage conversations around cycle-breaking generational trauma, and help other mamas navigate the bumpy road of motherhood.
